We recently helped launch a LLP in Indiana. We were able to coach this team of local volunteers to do the first of many projects to come. Here's what happened:

Hi Jason,

I just wanted to let you know that Saturday went very well. We did 62 loads of laundry and served 17 different families. I had put fliers up the week before at the Evansville Christian LifeCenter (which provides hot meals daily to those in need) and that is how most people heard about it. Remember how our time was scheduled from 7-10, at the laundry mat owners request? Well one lady got there at 5 a.m. to wait because she thought there might be a line. She was just quietly sitting there with 15 loads of laundry waiting. She was so grateful. So that is how we started the morning and I said to myself that if she were the only one we served that day that it would be totally worth it. Almost all of the families gave us a phone number and/or address and would like to know when we will have another. I think almost everyone wanted prayer too. All of the volunteers were eager to have another one. We had some money leftover from what we raised. So we will have another one soon!! One of my volunteers took a few pictures, that I could send to you if you are interested.

I was  really nervous about how the day would go, but God worked everything out.  One detail that I thought was really neat was that you had told me to raise around $500.00. So I set that as a goal. Well Walmart gave us a $50.00 gift card for laundry detergent. Then I was just getting $10 here and there from friends and other people who had heard about it. So Friday night my husband and I put in our donation. Then I counted up all of the money. Guess what the total was? $449.00. I love how God is in the details.

All of the worries that I had expressed to you were just not an issue. Everyone was just really thankful. Thank you so much for guiding me through this first one.
